A week with an assistant

Maya runs client proposals at a small design studio. On Tuesday she asks Claude to help with the drafts.

  1. She gives it one folder.

    Maya adds Claude as an agent called Proposal assistant and gives it Reviewer access to Drafts. Outside that folder it can’t even see file names.

  2. Its edits wait for her.

    The assistant rewrites the openings of two proposals. Its changes sit in Reviews, and the library stays as it was until a person approves them. An assistant can’t approve its own work.

  3. Jonas makes a mistake. Maya undoes just that.

    By Friday the library holds a version for every change Maya, Jonas and the assistant made, each with its author. On Thursday evening Jonas deleted the Contracts folder by accident. Maya undoes that one change, and everything else stays as it is.

Every file keeps its context.

Next to each file, Memnoria keeps what people know about it and what workers have read out of it. People search it, and so do assistants. That is how Proposal assistant found the March launch date in a recording.

Workers read your files

A worker opens a file, reads what is inside and saves it as an insight next to the file. Switch one on for a folder and it handles every new file there too. When a file changes, its insight is marked out of date until the worker runs again.

Shared notes

People and assistants can leave a note on any file or folder: what was decided, what to watch out for. Notes stay with the file when it moves or is renamed.

Claude Code, Codex and other MCP clients connect with two commands. A person signs in for the assistant in the browser, so it never holds a password.

The fine print, up front.

How long are old versions kept?
Each library decides: without a time limit, for a set number of days, or only a protected minimum. Undo and restore work with the versions a library keeps.
What if we stop trusting an assistant?
Suspend it. It loses access immediately, including every connection, and its past work stays in History.
Could a note give an assistant instructions?
Memnoria hands notes and insights to assistants as reference material, never as instructions. And with Reviewer access, whatever an assistant does still waits for a person.
Do we need AI to use it?
No. Libraries, sharing, version history and the Mac app work the same without any assistant connected.
